A pair of very fine antique two arm Chinoiserie style sconces in their original red and black painted finish. The tops of the backplates are punctuated with exceptional hand-painted vignettes set within delicate lyre-forms. The cups and bobeches, with gilded foliate details, sit atop arms which spring from beaded oval backplates, each terminating with bow and foliate details. Signed by the New York Maker E. F. Caldwell.
