To slow down natural oxidation, silver plated fixtures are lacquered unless specified otherwise. Selected items in the collection are provided in our handpolished unlacquered silverplate. We lay a thick layer of 24k lemony gold onto a semi-polished base and finish it by selectively burnishing the high points. CARE: Clean with soft cloth. Use no abrasive cleaners. Maintain with periodic dusting.
Literally "Green of Greece" verdigris is a dark patina finish that recalls the green oxidation on weathered brass, bronze, and copper. The metal is blackened and salts applied to bring out the mottled green tones. Left outside this oxidation will slowly and beautifully progress. CARE: Wipe if necessary with damp cloth. Use no strong cleaners or abrasives.
Each finish in our standard range comprises a series of tones along the spectrum from slightly lighter to slightly darker. Photographs on our website represent a single instance of a given finish. Every Remains fixture is hand-finished to order and minor variation is to be expected. The unique surface detail and particular alloy used will impact the read of the finish.
