Restoration

Remains Lighting Co. is uniquely qualified to take on historic restoration projects. We combine historically accurate methods and finishes with modern design and replication techniques, resulting in pieces that are museum quality, technically state of the art, and time-tested for durability and functionality.

Our extensive firsthand experience in restoration is supplemented by background research in national design archives as well as the Remains Library of archival drawings and texts on lighting design and metalworking.

Our Process

All aspects of restoration are handled in house, from fabrication of missing parts, to refinishing, to discrete rewiring for modern code-compliant and energy efficient use. Should retrofit or supplemental lamping be a project requirement, we advise on the most functional and practical method, with consideration given to the historic integrity of the fixture and its material makeup.
